The large-scale building projects of artists Martha Fleming & Lyne Lapointe are legendary in certain circles. And yet because of the independent nature of their production, a comprehensive overview of their work has never been published. This book fills that gap.   Studiolo presents the creative process of their association covering not only the site works produced for entire abandoned buildings in Montréal and New York City - with their panoramic paintings, installations, period music and nineteenth-century special effects equipment - but the very nature of the artists' intense fifteen-year personal collaboration.   The first half of the book is a docu-fiction in which key fragments of the artists' experience are offered as clues for the reader. The second half is composed of extensive conversations between the two women and Lesley Johnstone. They discuss their projects, and the links between them, and the relationship they have established with the audience as well as with each other.   Over two hundred photographs, many in colour, are reproduced here for the first time.
